Setting Up and Optimising Your NoCowboys Profile
Your NoCowboys profile is a powerful marketing platform that promotes your products and services alongside customer reviews. It is quick to complete and fully editable, allowing you to update and refine your profile at any time.
This step-by-step guide will walk you through the process of completing your profile. We recommend reading through to the end. The process is straightforward and not time-consuming.
Logging In to Your Dashboard
The first step is to log in to your business dashboard by visiting:
https://www.nocowboys.co.nz/login
Enter your username and password to continue.
Once logged in, click the blue Business Profile link. You will see prompt boxes highlighting incomplete sections, and a Profile Strength indicator on the right showing how complete your profile is.

Expertise & Service Areas
Start by entering your registered business name or trading name. Next, select your primary category and any additional categories.
Your primary category should reflect your main service (for example, Builder). Additional categories should reflect other genuine services you provide, such as Decking, Kitchen Remodelling, or Fencing. Only select categories that accurately represent your work.
When selecting Service Areas, choose broader regions rather than individual suburbs. For example, if you operate in Wellington, select areas such as Wellington City, Porirua Area, Hutt Valley Area, or Kapiti Coast Area.
Click the blue Save button when finished.
More About Your Business
Update your availability if you are not immediately available for work. This can be changed at any time.
The About You and Your Business section allows you to describe your business in a few paragraphs. Explain your experience, services, and what makes your business unique. This is an opportunity to present your business professionally and confidently.
The What You Do section should list your services and explain why customers should choose your business.
Click Save when finished.
Next, scroll to the Business Profile section and click Your Logo/Media.
Your Logo / Media
This section allows you to promote your business visually and improve your search visibility.
Upload Your Logo
You may upload one logo in JPG, GIF, or PNG format. The maximum file size is 5MB. JPG or GIF formats are recommended for best compatibility.
Remember to click Save after uploading your logo.
Add a YouTube Video
You may add a short promotional video. This requires a YouTube channel. We recommend a simple smartphone video under two minutes that introduces your business and services. A video helps customers connect with your business and builds trust.
Remember to click Save after adding your video.
Upload Images
Upload images showing your work, such as completed projects or before-and-after examples. Supported formats are JPG, GIF, and PNG (maximum 5MB per image).
Important: Save regularly, especially if uploading multiple images, to avoid losing progress.
Each image requires a title and description. For best results, include:
- Your business name
- Relevant keywords (for example, kitchen renovation, exterior painting)
- A location (for example, Caversham, Dunedin)
This helps improve your visibility in search results.
Click Save to apply changes.
Your Location
NoCowboys operates as a location-based search platform, so setting your business location is essential.
Select your location on the map. You may choose to hide your exact address if preferred.
Click Save after selecting your location.
Social Media
Add links to your business social media profiles. These will appear on your profile and allow customers to view your additional content and services.
Associations
Click the Associations link and select any professional organisations you belong to. Their logos will be displayed on your profile.
Only include associations you are currently a member of.
Account Settings
Click Account Settings to update your contact information.
Include:
- Contact name (for example, Customer Service)
- Main email address (receives notifications and enquiries)
- Sales email address (optional)
- Phone numbers (including mobile)
- Physical and postal addresses
Click Save when finished.
Ratings and Reviews
Customer reviews are the most important part of your NoCowboys profile. Building regular, genuine reviews improves your credibility.
You may request reviews from customers by clicking Ratings and selecting Request a Rating. Enter the customer’s name and email address and click Send Request.
We recommend sending no more than five requests at a time. Spread requests over several days to maintain credibility and maximise response rates.
